About octet

octet is a high-performance coding agent, extensible in any language, free and open source. Built in Rust, it works with cloud models and local OpenAI-compatible endpoints and keeps inspectable sessions on disk.

It is a skaft project. The source code is available under the MIT license.

Formerly codenamed Ygg, octet v0.9.5 uses the octet and octet-host commands. Install afresh; existing Ygg installations and data remain separate. See the installation instructions and distribution channels.

Design influences include Pi and the Terminus 2 agent. Their attributions and licenses are retained in the repository.

Use the blue–cyan–green identity in public material. Keep all eight columns adjoining, in order, with the original proportions and baseline. Allow at least one bit-column of clear space around free-standing logos.

The octet mark: eight adjoining columns, the first and fourth at half height.
Construction. Eight columns, each one unit wide, on a shared baseline. Positions 1 and 4 are two units high; the other six are four. Read left to right they are 01101111.
